A drop-dead gorgeous shrub in full flower with its royal purple blooms that almost smother the velvety foliage in spring and again in autumn. Needs a sunny sheltered spot with protection from harsh winds and frost to do well. Prefers well drained soil on the acid side. Bred to do well in cooler climates. Evergreen.
